Dua Lipa announces Calvin Harris collab set for release on Friday
Scottish superstar Calvin Harris has announced the follow-up single to ‘Nuh Ready Nuh Ready‘. The new single, ‘One Kiss‘, alongside Dua Lipa, will see its release this Friday [April 6] and can be pre-saved on Spotify.
As previously documented, Harris moved away from his trademark Electro-House sound and fused together dance, soul and hip-hop to forge a whole new club sub-genre which would soon be known as “Funk Wav”. While the experiment was critically acclaimed (he was nominated for Producer of the Year at the Grammy‘s), the resulting singles didn’t perform as well on the charts as previous offerings.
In a tweet to Dua Lipa earlier this year, Calvin Harris said the following:
“In 2018 movin on from Funk Wav sound thank u for joining me on my musical journey haha”
Since its release in early February, the Dancehall-inspired ‘Nuh Ready Nuh Ready’, peaked at No. 8 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales in February and also peaked at #11 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic singles chart. While the track was met with mixed reactions, the 34-year-old teased a return to House music; which was met with an inundation of positive reactions. In the meantime, pre-save Calvin Harris’ newest work below and get excited about ‘One Kiss’ upcoming release!
