Bringing new energy to an already charming record, DMND City makes his sophomore appearance on Marcus Schössows’ esteemed label Code Red Music with a sublime remix of “White Lies“. The original record from the label bossman Marcus saw it’s premiere on We Rave You two months ago. It received prominent support all around the scene. The original track boasts deep club beats charged with high octane bass lines and irresistible grooves. DMND City seizes the opportunity to take the track in a more chilled-out, “sunset on the beach” direction. Paying homage to the soulful vocals, the Norwegian Producer/DJ conjures up a mellow, deep house gem chalked full of nothing but good serene vibes!
DMND City is currently in the processing of establishing his roots within the scene, having already produced a tasty remix of Marcus Schössows’ take on the dance classic “Tell Me Why“, this next instalment is sure to garner even more notoriety. The Norwegian producer has an act for creating big, bright atmospheres in his tracks, all finely tuned with a pumping groove. The crisp plucks and easy going percussion in his remix of “White Lies” captures his unique blend of house music that fits right within the Code Red brand. In an effort to learn more about the track and DMND City, we reached out to the Norwegian producer to see just what he’s all about.
1. Can you tell us about the creative process behind the track? How did the remix come together?
“From the first time I heard the original record, Which is at least 2 years ago now. I knew I wanted to remix it and I had a clear vision of how it was supposed to sound. Its just one of those things where you feel a connection with the original record, a feeling hard to capture in words. From there on the process was straight forward. The whole thing was done in 2 sessions. I could not be happier with the result!”
2. DMND City is a new name on the scene. Can you tell us a bit about where you plan to take the project?
“Musically I think I hit the bulls-eye on this remix in terms of what I’d like DMND City to sound like . Having that said, i’m a big believer in contrast, so I will do records that are darker/clubbier . My aim is to release well produced , quality house music. If you’d like to explore my sound further, I have a few new playlists on Spotify (updated weekly + a monthly radio show called Kings & Dmnd`s that you could check out and follow! Music all over the spectrum is included, both for cruising and dancing and it will hopefully capture the essence of where I am coming from and where I intend to go!”
