Pendulum – The Island, Pt. 1 (Dawn) [Skrillex Remix]

With just a few weeks left until the release of the highly anticipated Pendulum remix album ‘The Reworks‘, fans have finally been treated to the fourth single from the album, and this time it’s an uplifting future bass rework of ‘The Island, Pt. 1′ by the one and only Skrillex. Steering away from his dubstep roots, Sonny Moore has still managed to excite his fans with a carefully produced remix that comes just in time for summer.

The world was given an exclusive sneak peek last year in LA, during one of Ekali‘s sets while on tour. Even though the video was taken down soon after, the hype around the tune has been building ever since. Now the day has finally come, and fans can finally enjoy the new remix. While dubstep enthusiasts will be surprised by Skrillex’s adapted sound, it’s a clear statement from the American producer that he’s planning to evolve his style and not stick to a single genre. In the past year, we’ve seen Skrillex put out more radio-friendly tunes such as ‘Would You Ever‘, ‘Favor‘, and even produce a tune for The Weeknd. In this latest rework, the catchy vocal chops, punchy drums, and crystal clear production make it evident that it’s Skrillex behind the remix. The original vocals by Rob Swire, Pendulum’s frontman, are still at the forefront of the tune keeping the original vibe that made the track so iconic.

This remix is the fourth so far from the album and comes after other reworks by Knife Party, Noisia, and Icarus. The full album ‘The Reworks’ is planned to drop in full on June 29. Make sure to save the date, as we expect a lot more fire to be featured on this special release.
