The trio made up friends, Mike Soriano, Zaahir Moloo, and Fez have stormed unto the scene by slowly establishing themselves with tunes such as ‘Flame By‘ which debuted via Armada Chill. The trio have continued to showcase their sound through remixes and originals alike which have seen support from artists such as Lush & Simon, Martin Garrix, Morgan Page and more.

With a bright future ahead of them, the trio continue to defy all odds and grow their platform all the while staying true to their original passions and love for electronic music. Their passion, dedication and commitment to their work are evident through their music. Even in their most recent release entitled ‘Mind Go‘ the trio muster a churn out a relaxing summery production. The vocally driven tune features the stunning voice of Keshia Angeline who in collaboration with EpicFail completely gel to create something special. With all the hype surrounding the trio, we sat down to talk about their beginnings, influences and more coming off their treat of a tune ‘Mind Go‘.

How long have you been a producer/DJ for? Tell us about the origin of your music. What inspired you to pursue your career as a musical group? Also, how did you three met and decided to form the group?

As a group, we have been producing and djing for 5 years now. The three of us met in Summer of 2012. Fez and Zaahir both live in the same City (Edmonton, Canada) they met through a mutual friend and both have the same love for electronic music. After producing and talking about music projects, the two signed up on a music forum website to share ideas in which they met Mike (SoCal, California). Mike gave the idea of how the three should be a group to have fun and make music so EpicFail was born. The name EpicFail was made for those who didn’t believe we wouldn’t make it far. We wanted to show them that we are going to fail but in an epic way. We had the opportunity to play in Edmonton, Calgary, Miami, Mexico, Tokyo and been supported by many DJS such as Morgan Page, BlasterJaxx, Thomas Gold and more.

Who do you consider to have been your biggest influences throughout your career that have made an impact on your productions?

We have a lot of djs/producers who influence us. Tiesto, Hardwell, Bynon, Dada Life, Armin Van Buuren, Calvin Harris,  Sander van Doorn, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, and Martin Garrix,

Tell us a bit on your latest track ‘Mind Go? Could you describe us the process of making it? What were the inspirations and main idea/s behind it? Describe the process of getting the vocals aswell.

Like our track Flame By featuring Nomi (available now via Armada Chill on all streaming platform), we wanted to make a track for Summer 2018. A simple melody with catchy vocals that people can sing along to. Having Keisha Angeline on this project was a lot of fun. This is our second track with her and we love her vocals a lot!  She knows how to deliver, and we will be working on more projects together.

The track has been released on Tiësto’s former label Black Hole Recordings. How does it feel to release on such an iconic label as this?

This is our second release for Magik Muzik. Our first release was a collab with our good friend Dryra featuring vocals by NessaKay called ‘Run your love’. Arny (AR for Magik Muzik/Black Hole Recordings) is one of our good friends who has helped us a lot. We are truly thankful to have a second release for this label and hoping to do more in the future.

Speaking of your latest track and music, it received a huge amount of support from the likes of Blasterjaxx, Thomas Gold, Husman, APEK just to name a few. How does it feel to gain support from artists like that? Also, what’s the best piece of advice you’d give to aspiring producers?

It feels great getting support from the heavy hitters in the industry. We are truly thankful and grateful for any support we get from our productions. As for advice for aspiring producers, be yourself and have fun. There will be times which your music will get turned down by labels but that should not mean you love to do. Keep going!

What does the rest of 2018 hold in store? Any hints or clues that we could get about future productions? any upcoming collaborations in the pipeline?

We have more tunes coming out this year which we are excited for. We will be releasing another single with vocals by Bare and collaborating with Alexander Orue, BassFinder, Dryra, Patrick Moreno, Aki-Hiro, Leika, and a cool trance project with Rinaly and having Jennifer Rene on vocals.
