Since they joined forces back in 1998, British band Gorillaz has become one of the most iconic and unique bands in their own right, consistently dropping hits across the years as they dominated with huge chart success. Their ‘Demon Days’ album in 2005 which featured instantly recognisable hits such as ‘Dirty Harry‘ and the track ‘Dare‘ debuted at the number one spot on the UK Albums Chart. While the band can celebrate reaching a landmark 20th year in the music business, Gorillaz has released their highly anticipated sixth album ‘The Now Now’ featuring 11 songs and collaborations with the likes of Snoop Dogg and George Benson. True fans of the band will have already heard glimpses of this album as Gorillaz previously shared a number of cuts from ‘The Now Now’, including Snoop Dogg collaboration ‘Hollywood’, ‘Fire Flies’, ‘Sorcererz’, ‘Humility‘ and ‘Lake Zurich’. The full album was also premiered live from Tokyo, Japan, during a Boiler Room stream.

The album remains loyal to the distinct sound an vibe which made the band popular all those years ago whilst still remaining fresh and new to listen to. Damon Albarn‘s vocal performance is truly impressive as it is masterfully mixed with experimental sounds and melodies, giving the listener a unique experience as they flow from track to track.

Gorillaz also announced their US tour with incredible hip-hop supporting acts Vince Staples and Danny Brown. On top of their regular US dates, the group also announced to cap off their US leg they will be holding their first ever Demon Dayz festival taking place in Los Angeles, California, accompanied by hip-hop stars, Erykah Badu, The Internet and DRAM as well as other notables Afrobeat, Tony Allen and Little Simz, the festival is sure to be an absolute smash.
