Michael Calfan, the french house extraordinaire who has toured the world over with hits like “Prelude“, “Treasured Soul“, and “Mercy“. Calfan has had a very decorated career in the past few years. His style has flipped drastically and he has produced alongside the industries greatest. Comparing his remix of “Reverie” released on Axtone to his single “Mercy”, we understand just how versatile of a producer he is. His latest release “It’s Wrong” alongside Danny Dearden pays homage to his French/Disco house roots.

The French house invasion occurred many years ago and was brilliant in how it pioneered a whole new style of electronic music. The style resonated well with fans as it was supremely funky, fresh, and seemed to never lose touch with the mainstream, remember “Music Sounds Better With You”? Michael Calfan is one of the genres greatest contributors and currently is enjoying 100 million combined streams on Spotify. 2018 has been quite fortuitous for Calfan, as he has released many hit tracks like “On You” and “Got You”.

“It”s Wrong” is a splendid little number. Omitting big and fat bass lines and eclectic synths, Calfan keeps it classy with smooth piano hooks and strings. The vocals supplied by Danny Dearden play off the instrumental and remain consistent throughout. Dearden has many successful solo releases including “Sleeping with the Moon” and “Take on the World”. Known for his soft vocals and touchy lyrics, he is a perfect match for suave beats of Calfan.

Keep an eye out for Calfan during his summer tour! With destinations like Tommorland, Ibiza, and the UK on the horizon, you might be able to catch “It’s Wrong” live!
