It is now confirmed that Swedish House Mafia will be finally making their return in 2019. Hype has been building for this ever since the supergroup’s surprise reunion at Ultra Miami earlier this year. Since then there have been several teases for fans on social media, including Sebastian Ingrosso himself stating to the Swedish publication Metro that the Axwell Λ Ingrosso project will be momentarily be put on hold.
[We] will actually put it on the shelf. As I usually say, there are three dots, it’s not two plus a dot. But we will definitely still do our individual stuff.
Most recently, Sebastian Ingrosso took to his Instagram to post a throwback video of the three playing live together. The video shows them having a great time behind the decks as Sebastian Ingrosso’s classic collaboration with David Guetta and Dirty South ‘How Soon Is Now‘ builds to its amazingly melodic climax. Fans will no doubt be looking forward to experiencing these moments once again starting next year.
Steve Angello also recently sat down to talk with leading Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter and mentioned instances of the trio having sat together in the studio. While this altogether does not confirm things to come, the excitement is surely there as Steve remarked that the trio is ‘raring to go’. 2018 has seen a staggering progressive house explosion, as Swedish House Mafia were pioneers of the genre, we can expect they will return as role models and leaders creating fresh and exciting tunes. As we will have to wait for an official announcement from the guys or their management to truly confirm the situation, we can now relish in their work and celebrate their music like never before.
