With disco music playing an important rise in the future of dance music back in the 70s and 80s, one man seems intent on bringing the genre back to the forefront of the modern electronic world; Dutch maestro Oliver Heldens. The Heldeep label owner has now teamed up with legendary artist Nile Rodgers to produce a stunning rework of Chic classic ‘Le Freak’, one the most iconic disco tracks of all time.
Lacing the anthem with his own bass-twisted feel, the Heldens remix offers glimpses of his HI-LO alias in areas, and follows the recent release of his fresh single, ‘Fire In My Soul.’ With Oliver recently confirming on his socials that Nile wasn’t the only person he has collaborated with recently, the Dutch DJ also recorded not one – but two – tracks with R&B legend, Craig David.
Whilst we wait patiently for those to surface, check out a clip of ‘Le Freak’ below… This one is a groovy modern-day Heldens classic!
