Nicky Romero I See

Nicky Romero rounds off 2018 with sensational yearmix

Every week countless fans of electronic dance music tune into social media to listen to the best new and upcoming music on Protocol Radio, hosted by none other than Nicky Romero. Every episode is carefully curated to give listeners a taste of Nicky’s favourite music, whilst also giving upcoming producers the opportunity to be heard on a worldwide platform. Episode 333, which dropped this week, was no doubt one of the most highly anticipated, as Nicky Romero released a sensational year mix looking back at the best music which came out this year.

Nicky Romero is masterfully able to blend a variety of different styles into one cohesive mix, ranging from club bangers like Teamworx‘s ‘Clap Back’, to more melodic, progressive sounds like the ones we heard in his latest remix for Martin Garrix and Mike Yung‘s ‘Dreamer’. Throughout the year, Nicky Romero was no doubt one of the biggest promoters of progressive house, bringing the anthemic sounds and infectious melodies back to the main stages of the world with releases like ‘Paradise‘ with Deniz Koyu and Walk Off Earth and ‘Duality‘. The second half of the mix is centred around the progressive sound which will no doubt excite fans of the genre in the hopes that it might one day return to its former glory.

Overall 2018 has been yet another sensational year for the Dutch DJ and producer, this mix truly reminds us how much quality music he has been able to put out despite his busy touring schedule. Be sure to celebrate the end of the year by listening to this special edition of Protocol Radio on YouTube below.
