The Canadian hit machine, Shaun Frank consistently turns heads every time he releases a new record. The largely talented producer/DJ has garnished a plethora of accomplishments over the years with his own music, but also has had massive songwriting credits on some of the biggest pop records in the EDM world with the prime example being diamond status smash ‘Closer’ by The Chainsmokers. His discography is surely one to marvel over, but still pales in comparison to the stages he has graced over the years to boot.
This time, his ongoing love for house music shines through in his latest single ‘Shapes’. Teaming up with fellow Canadian producer and friend Hunter Siegel and rapper Roshin, they masterfully craft what seems to be one of the most unique and bouncy house tunes of the year. Released on the legendary Spinnin’ Records, ‘Shapes’ is already gaining worldwide support from some of the biggest acts in the industry such as Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Blasterjaxx, and Afrojack, just to name a few. The dance-induced record grabs listeners immediately as Roshin gives a unique hip-hop vocal performance over minimalistic house plucks and percussions. The drop instantaneously grabs listeners by the legs and forces them to move the second the distinct bass line comes to the forefront. Perfectly etched drums keep listeners grooving as they masterfully weave cuts of Roshin’s vocals with the vigorous varieties of bass and chordal stabs – keeping the listener fully engaged through the entirety of the record.
If one thing is clearly certain, it is that this tune will absolutely be bolstering festival stages throughout the entire season next year. Apparently, the two producers have also hinted via Twitter at this just being the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their collaborations together. If these under-the-wraps tunes sound anything like this one does, we are going to be seeing a lot more of these two growing together in the forthcoming 2019.
