Following their big reunion in 2018, it may come as no surprise to learn that Swedish House Mafia were the most Googled DJs of 2018. With the behemoth search engine revealing their end of year results, SHM took the crown in the ‘electronic music artists’ category, a fitting finale to a year which saw the trio shock the world with a comeback at Ultra Music Festival in Miami last March. Following the set at the 20th anniversary celebrations in Florida, the SHM juggernaut has continued to steamroller forward, announcing further shows at the likes of Stockholm‘s Tele2 Arena next May, and at Creamfields in August 2019.

With Steve Angello also featuring on the most Googled list, there were no spots for Axwell or Sebastian Ingrosso in the Top 10, but outside of dance music, there were spots for the likes of Cardi B, ‘This is America’ artist Childish Gambino, and Demi Lovato – with the latter hitting the headlines for a failed suicide attempt. In the overall list of search results, Avicii came 2nd after passing away in Oman last April, with the summer’s football World Cup – which was eventually won by France following spirited efforts from the likes of Croatia and England – taking the top spot.
