Armin van Buuren & Bonnie McKee – Lonely For You

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Dutch DJ and Trance legend Armin Van Buuren is back with a new track. For the international day of love, the 42-year old prepared something special for his fans around the world. His new track together with Bonnie McKee is called ‘Lonely For You’ and a pretty unique piece of music for Armin.

Normally, we know Armin Van Buuren as the king of trance music, delivering great track after track as well as presenting the hottest trance tunes out there in his weekly radio show A State Of Trance. However, his collab with Bonnie McKee does not follow this pattern. The track is a mixture of radio-ready pop tunes combined with some drum ‘n’ bass basslines. The track resembles the pain of missing someone after ending a relationship and accepting that it is okay to miss that one, even if it did not work out. Bonnie McKee herself perfectly explained the tone of the track to Billboard:

‘Lonely for You’ is a song about recovering from losing someone, picking up the pieces and putting one foot in front of the other to move on from them. Sometimes, we are able to logically talk ourselves out of loving someone, and even feel relieved that they’re gone…but in the lonely hours of darkness in the still of the night, those feelings can creep up from the shadows and suck us back into the trap of missing that someone, even if we know they’re not right for us.

For Bonnie, working with an Electronic Dance Music artist like Armin Van Buuren is nothing new. The US-American already was part of KYGOs tour in 2018, as well as making an appearance during his set at Coachella that year.
