As we reported recently, the folks behind the ‘A State of Trance’ (ASOT) radio show are celebrating a landmark 900 episodes and last week saw label boss Armin van Buuren and Ruben de Ronde dish out fan favorites and hits for the first part of the seminal episode. Whereas the last one of the two-part episode saw the two industry stalwarts rely on the various Service for Dreamers submissions – where fans submitted track requests with short video snippets of their reasons for choosing the track – to curate the Part 1 of the episode, this one saw them return to the usual format as they ran through their picks, a Tune of the Week, a Future Favorite and some tracks that were making their presence felt on the charts.
What’s more is that this episode saw American singer/songwriter Haliene perform live vocals for her hits, such as ‘Saving Light’ with Gareth Emery and STANDERWICK and the Ruben de Ronde remix of her single ‘Dream in Color’. The episode began with Arty‘s new track ‘Save Me Tonight‘ and Above & Beyond‘s latest single titled ‘Flying By Candlelight‘, which features Marty Longstaff on the vocals. The 2 hour long special mix saw a flurry of top notch singles from the likes of Denis Kenzo, Gareth Emery & Ashley Wallbridge, Paul van Dyk & Steve Dekay and Jason Ross among many others. Sure to be a memorable stop in the scheme of greater things, the ASOT 900 landmark has really marked a moment of pride for Armin, Ruben and the whole ASOT team.
