Skrillex shuts down album rumours and discusses future plans
Skrillex is something of a legend in the world of electronic dance music. Sonny Moore started in the music industry as the lead singer of post-hardcore band From First To Last, before reintroducing himself in 2004 with his EP ‘My Name Is Skrillex’. Since then, he has released a number of singles, four EPs and one studio album. However, fans looking forward to a new album in 2019 might just be waiting a little longer. In a recent interview, Skrillex discussed his future in the music industry.
“You know, people have been asking me about when I have a new album coming out, and it’s a little strange, because I never said I was making an album. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been trying to step away a little bit. I wanted to take some time to prepare for my future and life as an adult, to figure out how I want to approach my career. I just wanna be human for a little bit.”
The purpose of the interview with Billboard was to discuss his new track with Utada Hikaru for Kingdom Hearts III. Despite shutting down rumours about an upcoming album, he did confirm that new music would be released soon. The California native also announced that he would be adding more shows to his tour schedule, including a Las Vegas residency. This exciting series of performances will take place at Kaos Nightclub from April 2019.
