The ‘bromance‘ is a truly special relationship. A bond between two males, the friendship can usually lead to deep chats over a beer, or afternoons spent watching sport together. But in the case of Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso, the bromance created one of the greatest EDM anthems of all time. With the Swedish House Mafia star taking a baby-face Alesso under his wing as an electronic music pupil, the REFUNE boss created ‘Calling’ in 2011, a slick collaboration with the star who had previously given us glimpses of his potential with tracks like ‘Pressure’.
Roping in OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder in 2012 to lay an emotive vocal on the track, ‘Calling’ soon became ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’ and was released on this day back in 2012, a true glory year for the EDM era, with tracks like Avicii‘s ‘Silhouettes’ and ‘Greyhound‘ also released during the year.
Following the release of his new PROGRESSO mixtape, Alesso will play in London this June with the event sure to prove one of the hottest parties on the dance calendar. Until then, you can catch this huge anthem below:
