Mortal Kombat, one of the most anticipated fighting games in history, will feature Dimitri Vegas as their new ‘character’ or as they call it, ‘skin’ in the video game. The Belgian-Greek DJ shared the big news on his Instagram account, alongside with a picture about his animated-self, adding ironically that it ‘looks bit skinny but that’s ok!’
Every Mortal Kombat 11 player can gain access to the skin from the 22nd August for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, PC and Nintendo Switch, completely free of charge – which is appealing even to those who are not familiar with the EDM world, thus don’t recognize the superstar DJ. But not only will Sub-Zero look like Dimitri Vegas, but the character will also apparently be incorporating voiceover work from the DJ and actor. Excited enough?
If you are into gaming, you should be. Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest flagship installment in the franchise, developed by award-winning  NetherRealm Studios, providing a more personalized experience than ever before with an all-new Custom Character Variation System that gives players the creative control to customize versions of the entire character roster. It also introduces a new cinematic story continuing the epic saga that is more than 25 years in the making.
The video game is not foreign to Dimitri, Earlier this year he teamed up with Bassjackers alongside his brother, Like Mike to remix the iconic Mortal Kombat theme song from 1995. The remix was featured in the trailer of the game to promote its official launch 23 April. The trio was also responsible for creating the original track, ‘You’re Next‘, which is showcased in the first Gameplay Reveal Trailer.
We love that the Belgian-Greek brothers are not afraid to push their boundaries in the world of entertainment, with just sticking to producing music and performing all around the world, but they follow their other passions too. Will you try on the Dimitri Vegas skin?
