Escapism‘ is the name of Audien‘s debut album. The American progressive house DJ and producer has taken his time to drop his first LP but it has worth the wait as this compilation is set to be one of the hottest news of this month. This release is also accompanied by his album tour, which is set to kick off this next Friday November 15th in Chicago at the Concord Music Hall.

Audien has always been a true master with his melodic and energetic tracks, edits, remixes and mashups. However, we never had the chance to hear his full story or message through his music. ‘Escapism’ is changing all that. This album allows us to see the artist from a different perspective, as he takes us through a journey where he shows us his most complete version. Featuring vocals from great renowned singers including Nevve, Jamie Hartman or Echosmith, Audien upgrades his cache and presents himself as a more mature producer experiencing with different styles while maintaining his roots and signature progressive house sound.

This can be seen in tracks like ‘Rollercoaster‘, which seeks a more future bass tone or ‘Reach‘ and ‘Sleep Paralysis‘, which are more trap alike. Also, this 11-track compilation has something for any occasion as it awakes different euphoric, sad and melancholic feelings. Some of them like the opening song ‘See You In The Other Side‘ are sad but deeply emotional, while some of them like ‘Heaven‘ are still sad but with a hopeful drop and catchy vocals. With this album, Audien himself commented that he’s not presenting anything new but improving his sound  “I’m not reinventing the wheel, but I’m accentuating the art I’ve created for almost a decade. It’s the best form of what I’m known for”.

In general terms, this is a great debut album that musically sees the evolution and growth of a fantastic artist over the years and we couldn’t enjoy it more. For the lucky ones that will be attending any of the ‘Escapism’ tour shows, get ready and warm up listening to the full album down below:
