Home Uncategorized Swedish House Mafia set to perform in Saudi Arabia

After what has been a roller coaster year for Swedish House Mafia the trio is set to play at Diriyah Season festival in Saudi Arabia. Billed alongside Calvin Harris and Major Lazer, Swedish House Mafia is billed to headline the festival this Saturday, the 14th.

The trio’s reunion has been met with mixed reviews by fans and critics alike. While delighted to see the trio back in action at a number of shows across the globe this year, new music, or, a lack thereof, has proven to become somewhat of a bugbear for Swedish House Mafia’s loyal followers. Nonetheless, a show in Saudia Arabia before the year’s close is set to delight a significant portion of the group’s devoted Middle-Eastern fans.

While known for its stringent laws on entertainment, Saudi Arabia has started to turn a corner in recent times, indicating a more relaxed approach toward its entertainment industry. June last year saw Armin van Buuren become the first DJ to headline a DJ party in Saudi Arabia. The show proved to be a stepping stone for what’s yet to come. In addition to this, restrictions on film are also set to become less stringent, with 300 cinemas scheduled to open within the next 10-12 years – one of many changes implemented in the country’s 2030 Vision.
