Skrillex Joins Thys in a 3-Hour B2B Set at Oost Nightclub
Skrillex surprised hundreds of fans on the evening of February 1st, 2020 by extending what should have been a 90-minute set, to a nearly 3-hour B2B set with Thys at Oost Nightclub.
Thys (real name Thijs de Vlieger), a Netherlands native and also one-third of the group NOISIΛ, decided to make his trip back to his home town of Groningen, Netherlands one to remember by bringing along Skrillex to Oost Nightclub.
Yesterday was one for the books. 90 minutes set became 3 hours set… Not even surprised. We did end up playing a few dubstep tunes, but mostly techno/electro/breakbeat/house/whatever you call that good stuff at 130 bpm. Thanks Groningen and lovely OOST crew, thanks @Skrillex <3

The pair played everything from dubstep, to techno, to house, or anything below 135bpm. Thys had stated that they were only allotted 90 minutes but seemed to have gotten lost within the music because they ended up playing an additional 90 minutes. The good news is that there may actually be a released recording of the set soon… hopefully.
We did record it. Will have a listen and see if we want it to leave the room 🙂

On the other hand, after Skrillex received a Grammy nod for the massive hit ‘Midnight Hour‘ featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Boys Noize, he has been hinting that there may be multiple albums in the works (perhaps we’ll get to hear a full-length Dog Blood album, Skrillex’s collaborative project with Boys Noize), making this set loaded with IDs that could potentially be coming from future albums.
While we’ll be on the lookout for future Skrillex albums and for the full recorded set of the amazing Skrillex B2B Thys set, we can at least savor the moment from the snippet below:
