As the British summer drew to a close, the August Bank Holiday weekend saw a flurry of festivals across the country. One of those festivals was that of the prestigious We Are FSTVL.

We Are FSTVL, celebrated its 10th anniversary in spectacular fashion, returning to the expansive grounds of Damyns Hall Aerodrome in Essex. Ahead of such a mammoth occasion, organisers had meticulously pieced together a stellar lineup, fitting of the festivities that were to follow. Across the course of 3-days, the festival was set to invite over 150+ of the finest names across the electronic spectrums, encompassing all of house, techno, minimal and drum and bass. A dance music gathering for the ages, We Are FSTVL was not to be complete without its industry-leading audiovisual production and stage innovation, which would see it deliver one of its most memorable editions to date.

For 2023, organisers had plans to expand the We Are FSTVL experience, taking from a two day experience and adding an additional day to proceedings. That wasn’t the only surprise for festival goers, as the festival also announced the introduction of camping for this year’s edition – more specifically an area dubbed the ‘Neighbourhood’. Alongside the camping areas, the Pretty Little Thing VIP areas inside the arena offered up even more this year, providing a more refined We Are experience in offering up moments of respite, with exclusive amenities, bars and music.

With a portion of attendees hunkering down within the festival grounds on Friday, it offered up an opportunity to maximise the lineup with a fine selection at the audience’s disposal on the first night. Day one saw the instigation of ‘We Are Fridays’ for the first time in the festival’s history, with world-renowned labels Defected and Glitterbox curating the lineup. Fans danced all night long, relishing in the sounds of Hannah Wants, Low Steppa, Claptone, and standout sets from the likes of the Dunmore Brothers, Darius Syrossian and George Smeddles on the Defected Stage. Meanwhile, Glitterbox showcased the DJ talents of Todd Terry, Sophie Lloyd and The Shapeshifters among others. Adding to that, Teletech stage saw industrial techno sounds delivered by 999999999, Blk and Nico Moreno to cap off an emphatic debut
