With the rise of the internet and the growing number of live streams and broadcasts, fans around the world have more time and access than ever to relive live sets, sifting through for unreleased tracks and other edits from the world’s biggest artists. This energy and attention to detail has made the new release from Hardwell and Nicky Romero a global phenomenon long before its eventual release this week.

The hype surrounding the new single, I Wanna Dance, first began back in March when Hardwell played parts of the single at Ultra Music Festival alongside vocals from the Miley Cyrus single, Flowers. While the first collaboration in 12 years between the two iconic Dutch producers was plenty enough to stoke the excitement from the dance music community, few details were given at the time as to when the new single would actually hit streaming services. The wait is finally over as the single has arrived alongside an engaging lyric visualizer to accompany the release.

Featuring a melodic vocal performance from MERYLL, the single opens subtly with her explaining, “I don’t wanna be rude, I’m just not in the mood, Can’t you see I try to move, instead of listening to you.” As the pulsing synth rises beneath the vocals and the percussion builds, the refrain of “I wanna dance’ is repeated before listeners are treated to a classic Hardwell drop, full of driving synths and hard-hitting bass. While the 12 years between collaborations for Hardwell and Nicky Romero seems like a lifetime ago, the two clearly have not lost their spark for working together and even celebrated the release with a surprise b2b set at this past week’s ADE festivities.

Check out the stunning visualizer below and celebrate the return of Hardwell and Nicky Romero for the first time in over a decade!
