Throughout their storied career, Irish rockers U2 have not only been known for their stadium-sized anthems and live performances but for always pushing the boundaries of what fans experience visually in a concert setting. Going back to their iconic Zoo TV Tour until the modern day, the group has looked to utilize the latest technology to offer a live show that is far more than just four amazing musicians on stage sharing their life’s work.

When the news broke that MSG would be building a state-of-the-art concert venue dubbed simply The Sphere in Las Vegas, artists and fans around the world were enthralled by the promise of a massive venue with a seemingly neverending LCD display, and an outer shell to match. The new venue first officially “woke up” on July 4th this year, showcasing the incredible visuals and special effects that the outer shell would offer, providing the most stunning landmark in a city known for bright lights and out-of-this-world entertainment. While the outside certainly attracts thousands of tourists a day with its rotating visuals, the inside concert space was also highly anticipated, and U2 was given the honor of being the first group to take the stage publicly.

Celebrating their legendary 1991 classic album Achtung Baby, the group would set up residency in The Sphere with the 360-degree screen providing a concert-going experience that the world had never seen before. Not surprisingly, the residency has been a massive success and the group has now revealed that it will be adding 11 more dates to accommodate the massive public response to the shows. The additional shows will mean that the group will hit the stage a total of 36 times following their debut on September 29th. For fans looking to make the trip to Vegas and catch U2 before they move on to their next venture, the additional dates are as follows: January 26-27 & 31 as well as February 2-3, 7, 9-10, 15 & 17-18. Be sure to grab tickets at the group’s official website when they go on sale Wednesday, October 25th.
