In a bold move that showcases his ever-evolving musical prowess, hitmaker and innovator David Guetta has released a cutting-edge music video for his recent chart-topping single, ‘Big FU.’ The track features the talents of Afropop sensation Ayra Starr and Chicago rap star Lil Durk, and the video is set to premiere on November 29th.

Crafted by the award-winning director Shapxo, the video offers a futuristic visual experience. Lil Durk and Ayra Starr take center stage, surrounded by a cast of body-painted characters donning avant-garde outfits, all set against a striking white backdrop. The bold visuals perfectly complement David Guetta’s forward-thinking arrangement on ‘Big FU,’ enhancing the overall aesthetic presented in the eye-catching single artwork by renowned French street artist Mr. Brainwash, a frequent collaborator with Guetta.

Big FU‘ marks a departure from Guetta’s recent dance floor anthems, revealing an unexpected, house-influenced facet of his production skills. The track features a slick groove built around an infectious funk bassline, with Ayra Starr’s powerful reverb-soaked vocals delivering an unforgettable hook: “Big Fuck You to my replacement / I see you’re someone else’s favourite.” Lil Durk’s razor-sharp verses and melodic synth stabs complete the mix, resulting in a smooth and beautifully produced banger.

This release follows David Guetta continuous string of hits in 2023, including the megahit ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me‘ featuring Anne-Marie and Coi Leray, and ‘I’m Good (Blue),’ which secured Guetta his eleventh Grammy nomination. ‘Big FU‘ further cements his status as a musical force, boasting 2.2 billion global streams and chart-topping positions in 11 markets, including the US Top 40 and US Dance Radio charts.

But Guetta’s momentum doesn’t stop there. In the past month alone, he has collaborated with Zara Larsson on ‘On My Love,’ which is rapidly approaching 30 million streams. Earlier in the summer, he released singles with MORTEN, Bebe Rexha, Shouse, and more. Following ‘Big FU,’ Guetta dropped the massive pop single ‘When We Were Young,’ an inspired take on Supertramp’s ‘The Logical Song’ featuring pop sensation Kim Petras. His remix work in 2023 has also been noteworthy, including smash reworks of cassö, RAYE, D-Block Europe’s ‘Prada’ with Hypaton, and Tony Touch’s ‘Apaga La Luz’ to name just a couple. ‘Big FU‘ is reminiscent of previous hits ‘Drive‘ with Black Coffee and ‘Memories‘ with Kid Cudi, well-loved features of his back catalogue.

Big FU‘ benefits from the vocal talents of Ayra Starr. Mixing confident, empowering lyrics with Afro-pop and silky R&B, the Nigerian singer/songwriter rose to national success with her 2021 debut album, ‘19 & Dangerous,’ and its chart-topping hit ‘Bloody Samaritan.’ Signed to Don Jazzy’s influential Mavin Records label, she has since collaborated with artists like Ladipoe, Kelly Rowland, Tiwa Savage, and Magixx while issuing solo singles like ‘Stars‘ and ‘Rush‘.

Chicago rapper Lil Durk is the lead member and founder of the collective and record label, Only the Family (OTF). Durk’s commercial success includes features on Drake’s ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ and Pooh Shiesty’s ‘Back in Blood’, as well as his LPs ‘The Voice‘ (2020) and the joint album with Lil Baby, ‘The Voice of the Heroes’ (2021)—his first release to debut atop the Billboard 200.

David Guetta has skyrocketed to one of the most streamed artists on Spotify globally, with over 42 billion global streams and selling over 50 million records worldwide. David is one of the most successful streamed artists, reaching top position across iTunes charts over 113 countries and achieving over 24 million global Spotify followers.

This year the international icon received two Grammy nominations, and won the ‘Dance Song of The Year’ award for his latest smash ‘I’m Good’ at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where he was also previously named ‘Dance Act of the Year’.
