It has been a surprisingly busy week for TiëstoRun Free (Countdown) together with R3HAB is one of the main talking points of the week but the new Radical Redemption remix for Lay Low has certainly turned some heads, and deservedly so.

One might think that the rollout of remixes for Tiësto’s gargantuan hit Lay Low is over now and that the Dutch titan might want to dish out new renditions of some of his newer hits. Quite the opposite. Lay Low has just received perhaps the most interesting remix from the rawstyle master, Radical Redemption. Radical Redemption also announced a future remix for Hardwell Azteck’s Anybody Out There on social media and hinted at a possible Hardwell collaboration which means he has successfully started connecting with the other realms of electronic music, not just hardstyle.

Premiered in breathtaking fashion, Radical Redemption, and his 25-piece orchestra played the remix at one of the Radical Redemption & His Orchestra Of Eternity solo shows. The orchestral elements add a completely new layer of emotion to the original, accompanied by the brutal kicks and the screechy synths which represent the style that Radical Redemption has built his career on. The remix was a big surprise given that Tiësto usually doesn’t play hard style in his sets and is not connected with the harder styles, as is noticeable on his social media. All in all, this remix represents a huge win for hardstyle which might enable more and more people to start diving deeper into the scene.

Radical Redemption enjoyed a prosperous year. He debuted his brand new orchestral show back in May at Freshtival, left Minus Is More and formed his own record label called Redemption Records, and also announced not one, not two, but three new albums to come out somewhere in the future. 2023 has been a massive step in Radical Redemption’s career and the same will continue in 2024. His new album No Retaliation is set to drop in January of 2024. While we await the album’s release, you can check out his remix of Lay Low below.
