“Huge milestone.” That’s how Just_us described his latest collaboration with the trance king Armin van Buuren, Make It Count. Combining the best of both worlds flawlessly, Make It Count oozes energy and is a certified festival weapon.

Armin van Buuren is one of the few artists this year who has released tracks so frequently and yet maintained the quality throughout. With 22 tracks in total from the start of the year (including club mixes and remixes for other artists) Armin totally blew the expectations out of the water and he is set to continue in the same tone as he recently teased a brand new collaboration with Goodboys on Instagram. Just_us, on the other hand, had a pretty solid year as well. He landed an official remix for the immortal Satisfaction by Benny Benassi which was supported by some massive names including Gordo and Sam Feldt. Other than that, he also released 3 singles on mau5trap.

Armin van Buuren has been one of the key figures in the astronomical rise of Just_us. Armin gave him a chance to open up his Ushuaïa Ibiza residency last year, called on him to end his NYE special in Dubai, and recently invited him to play a set on his esteemed A State Of Trance radio show as a part of the ADE special. Such connection could’ve meant only one thing: that the pair would soon end up in the studio together, trying to concoct something special. They did just that. Make It Count follows up on the recent trend that Armin picked up, which is playing with techno sounds. This is not the first time Armin van Buuren took on techno. In 2022, him, Reinier Zonneveld, and Roland Clark teamed up on We Can Dance Again, which served as one of the closing tracks of his set at Ultra Miami 2022. Make It Count is a total dancefloor destroyer from start to finish. With pulsating kicks and powerful synth shots, it radiates immense energy which makes the body irresistible to the beat. The extended mix includes a modified second drop which includes the acid melody incorporated in the break. All in all, Make It Count is undoubtedly the hardest track both artists released this year.

This month so far has been all about A State Of Trance. For the 20th year in a row, Armin van Buuren compiled only the best from the world of trance music. With a total of 111 tracks, ASOT Yearmix 2023 includes some incredible tracks from the likes of Chicane, Miss Monique, Gareth Emery, and so much more. The tracks were selected by Armin himself based on the votes from the Tune Of The Year voting. Make It Count is also a part of it, you can listen to it in the compilation or, as always, down below.
