Some call them robots, some human. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo might have retired their joint project Daft Punk, but they are still very much around. This time around they published yet another behind-the-scenes series, centered around their single Infinity Repeating together with Julian Casablancas + The Voidz.

Daft Punk have been split up for more than 2 years now, but they aren’t slowing down with new content aimed towards their die-hard fans. After their five-part documentary about the collaborators on their 2013 body of work Random Access Memories and the July series about the making of the said album, the French duo revealed a three-part series where they share the story of Infinity Repeating, their collaboration with Julian Casablancas + The Voidz. For those who don’t know, Infinity Repeating was the inclusion in the 10th-anniversary edition of Random Access Memories.

The series features director Warren Fu and producer Ryan Reichenfeld discussing the 2013 demo. They described the creative process behind the creation of the music video for Infinity Repeating and how the song should be considered as a demo, not a finished track. They also talked about their collaboration with Picnic Studio and how the mentioned studio created the characters in the video. With a mixture of drawn and computer-generated characters, everyone involved in the project breathed pure life into the video.

Daft Punk released a drumless edition of Random Access Memories last month. While a couple of eyebrows were raised about the sheer need to release such an edition, fans and enthusiasts alike have embraced it wholly, just like everything else the French duo released and put out so far. I am saying so far because no one knows what will come next from arguably the greatest electronic music duo to walk the planet. The rumors that the duo might reunite at the 2024 Paris Olympics were swiftly denied by a representative. You can watch the 4-part series on YouTube below.
