Jamie xx releases hypnotic new single ‘It’s So Good’

Home Featured Jamie xx releases hypnotic new single ‘It’s So Good’

This week brought exciting news for Jamie xx fans. After a long wait, the producer released ‘It’s So Good’, his first solo release since 2022. And yes, it’s so good. Jamie xx’s new single is already available on major platforms for streaming and download, via Young. ‘It’s So Good’ is also the soundtrack to the COCO CRUSH advert, the new Chanel campaign launched globally on January 9.

This new single comes after a lengthy silence from Jamie xx, which no longer surprises his followers. It’s not uncommon for the producer to stay hidden before releases, and he’s known for keeping a very low profile. ‘It’s So Good’ follows his only two releases of 2022, ‘Let’s Do It Again’ and ‘Kill Dem’. Apart from that, Jamie xx has put out a few collaborations, including one with Skrillex and another with his bandmate Romy on his debut album ‘Mid Air‘. As for the band, according to reports from the elements themselves, they are currently working in the studio to prepare a new album.

‘It’s So Good’ is no ordinary track. In fact, it brings out the uniqueness of Jamie xx and his singular musical identity that we’ve become accustomed to. In a crescendo musical mesh that unfolds smoothly but with rhythm, you can feel strong funk influences. If on the one hand, it has the warm identity of Brazilian funk, on the other it has the glitch of modern electronica. The organic and the industrial come together in a highly conceptual and easily danceable symbiosis. The single is anthemic and is a good recipe to use in a club. It’s a complex and brilliant minimalism. Percussion is the key to ‘It’s So Good’, focussing on rhythm, cadence and the energy it emanates. Listen to this unique hypnotic ode below:
