NERO, the Grammy Award-winning and Ivor Novello-nominated live electronic trio, has resurfaced with their latest single, ‘Blame You’, a compelling preview of their highly-anticipated third studio album, ‘Into The Unknown’.

The hauntingly nostalgic yet wondrously futuristic ‘Blame You’ marks NERO’s triumphant return to their drum and bass roots, a genre they haven’t explored in over a decade. With Alana Watson’s sultry vocals leading the charge, the track weaves through cosmic builds and whirlwind breakbeats, creating a captivating sonic journey that propels listeners into the next phase of ‘Into The Unknown’.

Reminiscent of the early drum and bass additions to their 2011 debut, Welcome Reality, NERO’s latest single embraces the neo-romantic motifs and galactic tones that have defined their album trilogy. Following the success of ‘Truth’, ‘Blame You’ provides a sneak peek into the sonic depth of Into The Unknown, hinting at the cinematic collision of NERO’s past and present that fans can expect to encounter on the upcoming album.

“It’s been 14 years since we released a Drum N Bass song. We felt it was time to return to the genre.”NERO

In 2023, Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray, and Alana Watson rekindled NERO after a five-year hiatus, releasing their first solo single.

Nearly a decade since headlining Coachella’s Outdoor Stage in 2015 and unveiling their second studio album, ‘Between II Worlds,’ the trio spent those years exploring side projects and personal lives before regrouping in 2019. ‘Into The Unknown‘ signifies a significant return for NERO, concluding their album trilogy that commenced with the chart-topping, Platinum-selling, and Grammy-winning ‘Welcome Reality’ in 2011.

Scheduled for release in 2024, ‘Into The Unknown’ narrates the final chapters of NERO’s post-apocalyptic tale, exploring humanity’s dichotic destiny. The album delves into the harmonious convergence of science and fantasy, beauty and brutality, creation and destruction. Laden with the band’s metaphysical fascination, ‘Into The Unknown’ encapsulates NERO’s avant-garde dystopian universe crafted over two decades. As fans anticipate the album, NERO’s return with ‘Blame You’ sets an electrifying stage in their evolution.
