Zurich-based creatives Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer, also known as Adriatique, have teamed up with Undercatt to create an incredible two-part work. ‘Horizon‘ has been available on major streaming and download platforms since Friday via Adriatique’s new label X Recordings.

Good collaborations lead to richer, more interesting and exciting musical weaves. That’s how it usually is, and that’s how it was with this fascinating EP. For the production of this incredible two-tracker, Adriatique brought Undercatt on board to descend or ascend together into the dense realms of melodic techno.

Adriatique are one of the most recognised names in their field and need no introduction. With their unique and unmistakable sound, they have shaped the melodic landscape with futuristic and groundbreaking works such as their X concept. They have built their reputation with releases on concept labels such as Afterlife by Tale Of Us, Rose Avenue by RÜFÜS DU SOL, Diynamic by Solumon and also on their own imprints. They recently launched X Recordings with ‘The Future Is Unknown’ and now they’re back in the label’s catalogue with this powerful collaboration with Undercatt.

Elia Crecchi, better known as Undercatt, is also a prodigy in this genre of music, producing incredible examples of atmospheric techno. ‘Horizon’ is Undercatt’s debut for X Recordings and follows his last single ‘We Are Your Friends’.

The title track is an amazing 6-minute journey that seems far too short. This melodic tune is built on a web of intricate melodies, in a tapestry of swirling elements. It is mysterious, mystical and progressive and captivates with its modernity. A beautiful dichotomy between metallic elements and an organic body.

Vera‘, on the other hand, has a deeply hypnotic lead. The narrative is a little softer than the previous one and invites you to a sweet daydream. The galactic and futuristic concept remains, but here it is explored in a more atmospheric and contemplative way.

These are two very elegant, brilliantly produced pieces that we recommend you listen to below:
