Take a look at a MIDI controller the size of a credit card

Thanks to the internet, creative designers and engineers can share their work with the world around them. One unique new inventor decided to create a MIDI controller that is the size of a credit card.

As more and more producers are switching to home studios, the need to save space and create music in new ways is an ever-evolving process. While access to gear and plug-ins is easier than ever thanks to the internet and global shipping, cost and space are an issue for most musicians. With that in mind, one inventor took it upon himself to create a MIDI controller that is the size of a credit card, saving space while still able to craft new ideas. This latest bit of ingenuity and design was crafted by Alana Balagot with the instrument being sold through Etsy via MakerProducts.

While it is not the world’s smallest MIDI synthesizer, the MIDIcard is certainly unique in its size and function. Complete with an 18-note keyboard, providing an octave and a-half range, the wallet size controller also features octave shifting buttons to help with functionality. The tiny instrument also provides three velocity levels, sustain and modulation keys, plus a USB-C connection that will allow it to work with computers and smartphones.

With a pocket-size dimension of just 3.5” x 2”, this is a truly unique MIDI controller.
