It was a night to remember for Calvin Harris who won his third BRIT Award and delivered a stunning performance with Ellie Goulding at the O2 Arena on Saturday.

Calvin Harris has added another trophy to his collection, as he was named Best British Dance Act at the BRIT Awards 2024 on Saturday night. The Scottish DJ beat out Barry Can’t Swim, Becky Hill, Fred Again and Romy for the coveted prize, which he dedicated to a classic radio show and his collaborator Ellie Goulding.

Harris, who also performed at the ceremony with Goulding, thanked the singer for lending her vocals to his hit track ‘Miracle’, which topped the charts in 2023. He also paid tribute to Danny Rampling’s ‘Love Groove Dance Party’, a popular dance music show that aired on BBC Radio 1 in the 1990s.

“Wow. Wow, thank you. First and foremost I want to dedicate this award to Danny Rampling’s ‘Love Groove Dance Party’ and I want to thank Ellie Goulding – wherever she is. Ellie, I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for you and I couldn’t have done it with anyone else in this room,” he said on stage at London’s O2 Arena.

This is the third BRIT Award for Harris, who previously won British Producer of the Year in 2019 and British Single of the Year in 2020 for ‘One Kiss’ with Dua Lipa. He is also the most successful British dance act of all time, with 10 UK number-one singles and four UK number-one albums.

Harris, who married TV presenter Vick Hope in a private ceremony in England last year, also shared a sweet hug with Hope’s parents, who were seated next to him at the event. Hope, who hosted the BRIT’s red carpet show, gushed about her husband on social media, calling him “my everything”.

The BRIT Awards 2024, hosted by Jack Whitehall, celebrated the best of British and international music, with performances from RAYE, Dua Lipa, Chase & Status, Calvin Harris, Rema, Becky Hill, Jungle, and more. The full list of winners can be found here.
