In what served as the emotional high point of the weekend, Saturday night at Ultra Music Festival brought together Madeon and San Holo on the Live Stage. With one of them starting a new era of music and the other coming off a long run of shows and nearing the end of one, their set was full of surprises.
Near the end of 2023, Madeon revealed that he would be bringing the Good Faith era to a close before the year was over. Since Madeon’s last album was released, San Holo has kept far busier, releasing two albums since 2021, bb u ok? and last year’s Existential Dance Music, which he quickly took out on the road, delivering music from across his storied career night after night.
Both Madeon and San Holo have spent their careers blending the DJ elements of the dance community with a live show to reveal their own musical abilities and lack of boundaries. Their set from Saturday at Ultra Music Festival was a true celebration of their pasts and future as well as a collective emotional release for those bearing witness to the set.
