Solomun turns Kasabian’s ‘Call’ into a new remix

Solomun once again takes a radio tune and turns it into a dancefloor hit

Solomun has done it again. One of the Bosnian-German artist’s gifts is to take songs that are already big hits and give them a new spin. This time, Solomun has taken one of Kasabian‘s most recent singles and turned it into a dancefloor hit. His remix of ‘Call‘ is now available on the usual platforms via Sony Music Entertainment.

Kasabian are one of the UK’s best and biggest rock bands. Twenty years after the release of their debut album, the band will celebrate the occasion with the release of a brand new album. ‘Happenings‘ is the Leicester band’s eighth studio album and will be released this July. The first extract to be known from this upcoming album is ‘Call‘, released last month, a dance-infused tune that is softer in the verses and more explosive in the chorus, to mimic the metric dynamics of a dance track.

Taking advantage of the dance flavour of ‘Call’, Mladen Solomun rolled up his sleeves and gave the tune an incredible clubbing spirit. The size of the track is naturally elongated to suit the length of the dancefloor and it’s given it a new personality. The original already had many elements ready for the floor, but Solomun has rearranged the layers and changed the hierarchies so that the elements stand out, fill the soundscape and give ‘Call’ an even more sensual bassline. The guitar riffs are emphasised, giving roughness to the melody. The vocals, already very catchy, take on highly hypnotic proportions here. The result is very rich in elements and very strong in terms of percussion. It’s another excellent remix from Solomun, another honest ode to dance that’s worth enjoying on the dancefloor.
