Ultra Music Festival shuts down day one due to severe weather
As anticipation grew for the gates to open up for Ultra Music Festival 2024, the weather chose to complicate the event, raining throughout much of Friday. After navigating the elements, and a few stops and starts, the event officially halted the show around 9 pm EST.
Fans preparing to ascend Bayfront Park in Miami today for Ultra Music Festival awoke to cloudy skies and sheets of rain, leaving the event itself in question and at best, uncomfortable for attendees and performers. From the start of the day. stagehands could be seen frantically rushing to protect equipment and ensure the safety of the performers. Meanwhile, the audience was literally left out in the rain, as most attendees appeared to be donning ponchos to help brave the elements. Images on social media reveal the mud-soaked grounds as fans looked to avoid or bask in the experience.

As the promoters hoped the weather would hold out, the event began as planned, operating as normal for several hours. Concern started when Tiësto was forced to stop his set due to the extreme conditions. Not long after, with thunderstorms threatening the region, the promoters opted to pull the plug on Friday night, officially sharing word to social media around 9 pm that the festival would be shutting down and fans would be asked to leave the grounds.
This is a breaking story…
