The 1/3 of Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello, closed down the Sahara stage at this year’s Coachella in emphatic fashion, sneaking in a brand new Swedish House Mafia ID in the process.

Steve Angello closed out the Sahara stage in style during the first day of Coachella 2024. The Swedish powerhouse managed to blow every expectation out of the water with a set that featured the usual suspects in the form of Swedish House Mafia classics and IDs but also fresh tracks from Steve’s long-running label Size Records. Coachella definitely felt that Swedish magic flowing.

Let’s about the usual suspects of Steve Angello’s set. The album Swedish House Mafia announced last year is still on the way (although with no exact release date) so Omen is still an integral part of not only Steve’s sets but also Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso’s. The 2022 reworks of Don’t You Worry Child and Antidote were also present. Corey James was one of the focal points of the set as Steve played 3 of his tracks including a brand new unreleased Corey James & Magnificence collaboration, the released Demolition (The Drill) alongside TR3NACRIA, and the Steve Angello edit of The Underground (House Of God). The track that completely stole the show came at the tail end of the set as Steve premiered a brand new Swedish House Mafia ID currently titled Lioness (no exact information on the definitive name). As always, Steve Angello’s most recent tracks such as Me and Skip with Sebastian Ingrosso were also a part of the performance.

41 years of age and still performing with the same passion and dedication, Steve Angello has always flown under the radar amidst the global success of Axwell /\ Ingrosso but always delivered his best. His Coachella closing set is a true testament to more than 15 years of blood, sweat, and tears and there are absolutely no signs of him slowing down anytime soon. Coachella weekend 2 is up next for the Swedish magician.
