Erica Synths unveils Nightverb, Graphic EQ & Bullfrog XL

Erica Synths, a renowned maker of synthesizers and audio equipment, is set to launch several exciting new products at the upcoming SUPERBOOTH24 music technology convention in Berlin. The new gear on offer includes innovative tools for shaping and processing sounds in fresh, creative ways.

Nightverb

One of the highlights is the Nightverb, a unique hardware reverb effects unit developed in collaboration with 112dB. Unlike typical digital reverbs, the Nightverb aims to provide an extremely musical and harmonically rich reverb effect. It allows for incredibly long reverb decays without any loss of tone quality.

With the ability to tweak multiple parameters simultaneously, musicians can play individual notes and let them swell into dense, atmospheric reverb tails. Or shape evolving reverb chords that can be pitch-shifted and modulated on the fly. The Nightverb promises to be an inspiring new tool for sculpting lush, spacious ambient textures.

Graphic Resonant Equalizer

Also being unveiled is the Graphic Resonant Equalizer, an analog equalizer module for Eurorack modular synth rigs. It provides precise frequency shaping across 10 resonant bands, with full analog circuitry and digital controls over each band’s level.

What makes it unique is the ability to control every band’s level via CV control voltages. Unusual resonant loops and unconventional filter modes like combining bands into weird multi-mode filters are possible. Clock modulation, randomization of levels, saveable presets, and an expander for hands-on tweaking add to the creative flexibility.

Bullfrog XL

Finally, Erica Synths is supersizing their educational music instrument “Bullfrog” in collaboration with techno legend Richie Hawtin. The original Bullfrog was designed to inspire learning about synthesis through an engaging hands-on experience.

The new Bullfrog XL takes that concept to epic proportions – it’s a gigantic 3x scale version perfectly suited for classroom teaching. Despite its massive size, it retains all the key features like analog oscillators, filters, envelopes, effects, and built-in speakers that made the original shine. The extreme scale lets every control and component be easily visible across the room. It also adds an oscilloscope display for visualizing signals. With MIDI, USB, and voice card expansion, it can integrate into any studio setup too.

All three will be available for up-close demonstrations at Erica Synths’ booth during SUPERBOOTH24 in Berlin from May 16-18.
