Mau P drops his first-ever vocal track ‘On Again’ alongside a wacky music video: Watch

Mau P rolled back the years when he sang on his tracks as Maurice West on On Again, the groovy house single which also comes in package with an intriguing music video.

Those who have followed Mau P since before he released his breakout single Drugs From Amsterdam surely know his past musical background when he was known as Maurice West. As Maurice West, he sang on tracks such as Maniac and This Melody, showcasing his impressive voice. Now, 2 years later since his last release under his previous studio name, Mau P dusted off his vocal chords and delivered a vintage performance on his latest track, On Again. Alongside the track, he also released an interesting music video, only his second after dropping an official video for Drugs From Amsterdam.

Starring in the video himself, Mau P goes from sinking in a phone booth to a gardener to channeling his inner Zeus, all in a span of 4 minutes and 8 seconds. The video features incredible cinematography, with a top-notch quality, in the manner of the globe’s biggest superstars. He already showed he has an eye for making engaging content, by announcing his Wynn Las Vegas residency using top-notch CGI to announcing his sold-out show Baddest Behaviour – Under The K Bridge.

Mau P shared the thought process for On Again:

“This song has had such a beautiful process where I feel like I really found a new part of me as an artist. I always felt like it was a demo that was meant for a bigger artist than myself, but after showing everyone the version with my vocals on it it just stuck. The magic was already there and after getting Mike Dean’s blessing on it, it really felt perfect.”

To make things even more impressive and crazy, one of the producers on On Again is none other than the legendary Mike Dean. Mau P had already shared some Instagram stories with Mike in the past when no one knew what they were working on. With a 30+ year career and projects with some of the planet’s biggest artists such as Travis Scott and Beyonce, Mike Dean trusted Mau P’s vision and sprinkled his magic to make On Again as crispy sounding as possible.
