Home Featured Apple announces macOS Sequoia with iPhone Integration

At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple pulled back the curtain on the next major version of its Mac operating system – macOS Sequoia.

The headlining feature is deep integration with the iPhone, allowing users to seamlessly work across devices. With macOS Sequoia, you’ll be able to fully mirror your iPhone’s display onto your Mac and have complete control over it using your computer’s mouse, keyboard, and trackpad. Even with this virtual mirroring, your iPhone will remain unlocked and any open apps like video players will continue running uninterrupted.

Building on its Continuity features, Apple is taking steps to create a unified ecosystem experience. A new Presenter Preview mode allows you to privately prepare a viewscreen before sharing your screen. There are also options for background blur and virtual green screens.

Several other upgrades are in store, including a new dedicated Passwords app to manage credentials across Apple’s ecosystem, video call enhancements with background effects, and continued iOS/iPadOS feature ports like improved Maps and new text animations.

Apple is doubling down on gaming with macOS Sequoia. The operating system will offer advanced gaming capabilities, and major titles from publishers like Ubisoft are being announced for the Mac platform. Public beta testing for macOS Sequoia kicks off in July ahead of the software’s official release this fall.
