Jamie xx collaborates with Robyn on new disco-influenced single ‘Life’: Listen

Jamie xx is giving the world another taste of his upcoming album with his latest single in collaboration with Robyn, ‘Life.’

Earlier this month, London producer Jamie xx unveiled that his next album, ‘In Waves,’ will be released on September 20th. In preparation for that, he is unveiling his newest single off the project titled ‘Life’ as he teams up with Robyn, who is having her first major release since 2018. Already generating positive reactions from the other singles this year, it’s evident that ‘In Waves’ is gearing up to be one of Jamie xx’s most revered pieces of work, and the anthem that this new track is further validates that. 

“I made this track pretty fast (for me) and I loved it from day one. When I first heard Robyn’s vocal it was at 6 am after finishing playing at Pacha in Ibiza, it was the perfect moment. Robyn and I have spent time working together and hanging out for some years now, it’s always a joy and always inspiring, I’m so glad and grateful that she is a part of In Waves. ‘Life’ is a track that is made for the summer. It taps into the nu-disco sound that has risen in popularity over the last few years and is a track that you will want to play with your windows rolled down and on the highway. Its riveting horns are the main feature of this track. They keep the energy very high from start to finish and are incredibly groovy. Robyn’s voice also has a confidence that takes this song to the next level and features different parts of her register throughout the 3 minutes.
