Truth x Lies return with hard-hitting new house anthem ‘FTP’: Listen

Rising from the incredible New York music house scene, Truth x Lies are continuing to celebrate their hometown and the music they love with their latest single. Built to serve underground clubs and music lovers, FTP is a track “for the people.”

While Truth x Lies have been building their fanbase throughout New York as well as around the country, it is through their travels that their most recent single was first birthed. During a stop at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, the duo of Ian Bertles and Ryan Howard connected with No Context Records boss Kyle Watson. Both parties were on their way to Austin, TX for a joint performance and now the duo’s first track on Watson’s imprint has arrived.

“We met Kyle Watson for the first time at O’Hare airport on the way to play a show together in Austin. After playing again a few months later in New York, he asked us for some music for his new label, No Context. We’re huge fans of Kyle and what he does, so we got to working on new some music. One night in the studio we talked about how we love to give back to people and the line ‘for the people, by the people’ just stuck. Ian recorded the vocals and the rest is history. A huge shoutout to Kyle for believing in the record!”

Built upon a foundation of pulsing rhythms, the track opens with the line, “Let’s slow it down for a second. We are all gathered here in the name of house music.” The track continues to grow as layers of synths and leads dance over the beat, providing a groovy yet gritty delivery. As the track states, this is “music for the people, by the people,” and the energy is reflected in every measure of the single. Whether listeners share the New York City experience or not, this track is truly universal in its promise for the true house music fans.
