Antelope Audio Set to Release Atlas i8 Monitor

Antelope Audio have released a whole arsenal of professional-grade music production technology over the years. Their product lines, filled with audio interfaces, mics, converters, and processors, will soon be joined by an exciting new speaker. First showcased back in April at NAMM 2023, the Atlas i8 monitor will be out later this year.

The Atlas i8 is the company’s first solution for every studio. This 3-way active monitor promises to “deliver extended low-end frequencies and soaring sound pressure levels thanks to its secret weapon.” As you’ll notice in the product pictures, the speaker is a two-way monitor with a never-before-seen design. There are 2 8-inch woofers implemented in an isobaric design: the woofers are behind one another.

“Less space, more bass.”

This cabinet design results in a layout that reduces size & air volume, strengthens power, and takes care of a more detailed low-frequency response. A range of FPGA chips with IIR & FIR filters are added in order to achieve a more focused stereo image and a precise transient design. A coaxial formation has been added for the tweeter and mid-range driver, ensuring improved phase coherence because of the single-point source technology. From now on, you can place your monitor horizontally or vertically in the absence of frequency lacking or comb filtering. The monitor owes its fidelity to the manufacturing process and years of experience in the development of digital signal processing.
