Last spring, Microsoft launched its Designed for Xbox series with a line of pastel controllers meant to evoke the color and vibrancy of the season. This year, they’ve opted to highlight the flair of summertime, enlisting the help of noted headphone makers Audeze for a limited edition collaboration that will delight Xbox and PC gamers. The Maxwell Ultraviolet, a bold and bright colorway of an award-winning headset, is here.

Audeze’s Maxwell has become known as one of the best pair of headphones for gamers for a variety of reasons. Encased in an aluminum and steel chassis and outfitted with contoured earcups, it achieves a rare balance between durability and comfort. The sound quality is befitting of studio headphones, with 90mm planar magnetic drivers, high-res audio of up to 24-bit/96kHz, Dolby Atmos technology, and FILTER noise reduction. 80+ hour battery life ensures that you’ll be ready for even the longest gaming sessions, and the impressive 20 minute fast charge will just about eliminate downtime.

It’s important to note that the Ultraviolet Edition is simply a limited color variant- besides the appearance, it’s identical to other Maxwell headsets.

The package includes the following:

  • Headset
  • Detachable boom mic
  • USB-C wireless dongle
  • USB-C to USB-C
  • USB-C to USB-A adapter
  • 3.5mm TRRS cable
  • Quickstart guide
  • Warranty card

The Maxwell Ultraviolet Edition gaming headset is available for pre-order on the Audeze website for a price of $329.00. The headset will not officially launch until August 15th, but as it’s a limited release, you’ll want to act now if you’re looking to get them for yourself.
