Haitian DJ and producer Michael Brun recently teamed up with educational program Beat Making Lab to work with the students of a local school in La Gonâve, Haiti. Alongside Major Lazer member Walshy Fire and Beat Making Lab co-founder Apple Juice Kid, the group met up with the town’s young residents to teach them the basics and tricks behind the art of music production.

Throughout his career, Michael Brun has continuously kept himself close to his roots in Haiti. Whether he is blending Haitian musical influences in his productions or giving back to his community, the renowned artist has always maintained his relationship with his home country.

For this project, Michael Brun joined forces with Beat Making Lab, which was an innovative course that began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that turned into a music education experience for many countries across the globe. Seeking to promote cultural exchange, innovative collaboration, and social and entrepreneurial impact, Beat Making Lab has continuously shared knowledge to young people about creating music through technology and computers.

On social media, Michael Brun unveiled a video about the group’s experience and some of the ideas they presented to the students in Haiti. You can check out the entire video below.
