Home Uncategorized Reddit announces its own Top 100 DJs poll results

The r/EDM subreddit has its own alternative listing with fans voting on Reddit to determine which artists they think deserve to be ranked.

The DJ Mag Top 100 list courts controversy every year with accusations of rigging, artists using sketchy strategies to garner more votes, and DJs themselves placing perhaps too much importance on the ranking. However, the industry worldwide, particularly in Asia where the genre is up-and-coming, uses the stats to determine how much to pay artists and which ones to book.

Although this is supposed to be more representative of fans’ true tastes and not just an industry barometer, the results reveal the DJ Mag Top 100 list is not too far off from fans’ own votes. However, this other ranking reveals just how much fan favorites can garner votes in a more equitable scenario, given how the ever-popular Rezz gained 63 spots.

It’s no surprise the big room wunderkind Martin Garrix reigns supreme, holding the top spot for a second year in the row. Garrix also held the distinction of being the DJ Mag top DJ in 2016.

Rounding out the top ten are:

  1. Martin Garrix
  2. Illenium
  3. Porter Robinson
  4. Don Diablo
  5. Hardwell
  6. Seven Lions
  7. KSHMR
  8. Flume
  9. Armin van Buuren
  10. Marshmello

Check out the entire top 100 on the subreddit.
