Arash ‘Ash’ Pournouri is a well known name in electronic music. As manager of Avicii for a number of years, the pair developed a strong friendship both inside and outside of the music world. Today, after the news of the producers death, Avicii’s former manager displays his grief through a moving tribute on his Facebook page.

Pournouri often refers to Avicii – real name Tim Bergling – as his family, brother and friend, and the message is a sorrowful reminder of the incredible skill, personality and talent that the producer displayed so well through his vast collection of tracks. Despite some up and downs between the two, the message shows the relationship that the pair had, and how much it meant to his former manager:

“Nobody will know what we went through together. Nobody will know the bond we had and the love we had for each other. The show is a show. That was never real. It was a story we told the world. You and I were real.”

Coming as a shock to millions across the world, Pournouri is one of many to show their emotions regarding the death of one of electronic musics biggest stars. Providing memorable sets, chart topping tracks, and bringing happiness to so many across the world, the legacy that has been left by Avicii will not be forgotten, and this statement shows that.

The beautiful message from his former manager recalls their most recent contact:

“I was just asked by my family what we said the last time we spoke and I burst out in tears again. I will never forget, and forever be happy and grateful for the last words we both shared with each other just a couple of months ago, after spending 9 hours together eating, drinking and hanging out, at 5 am on Saturday morning of February 17, as we were leaving the place somewhere in Stockholm – “Jag älskar dig”.”

The latter translates to ‘I love you’ in the pairs native language of Swedish, and highlights the incredible bond that the pair had. Pournouri leaves the following at the end of his message:

“I hope everyone is left to grieve Tim in their own way and remember him as an icon.”

It is for sure that the grieving process for so many will be difficult, but Avicii will undoubtably be remembered as a pioneer of the music that is created every day by producers, many of whom were inspired by the great producer.
