Martin Garrix is crowned #1 in Reddit’s top 100 poll

Like DJ Mag‘s top 100 poll, the Reddit top 100 is also based on votes from fans. To compile this year’s ranking, fans were asked to submit a list of their five favourite artists and rank them in order, with the first being their favourite. Now, all the votes have been put together and the result is an interesting ranking that differs widely from DJ Mag’s top 100.

Retaining his top spot in the Reddit poll, Martin Garrix once again proved to be the favourite amongst fans worldwide. Following him in the ranking, Illenium, Seven Lions, Hardwell, and Odesza completed the top five. From 6th place to 10th were Porter Robinson, Armin van Buuren, Don Diablo, Avicii and Rezz. The diversity of the artists at the top of the poll illustrates that votes were cast from fans of a wide range of the sub-genres that make up the electronic music spectrum. That being said, the drawback of public polls is the lack of continuity in the factors behind each voter’s decision. Someone may choose to vote based on their favourite sets of the year, while another fan may vote based on their favourite songs. Either way, the poll does provide a great indication of the popularity each artist commands.
