With the release date of Kingdom Hearts III on January 25th, 2019 (Worldwide release: January 29th, 2019) approaching, the opening trailer of the game has now been released giving fans a sneak peek into the game and the theme song. Skrillex, a long-lasting Kingdom Hearts fan, has teamed up with Japanese singer Hikaru Utada for the theme song of the game named ‘Face My Fears’.

For those who don’t know Kingdom Hearts, it’s a single-player action role-playing game with characters from Disney, like Mikey Mouse & Donald Duck, and Final Fantasy, like Cloud & Sephiroth, combined in a new world together with the main character; Sora. Kingdom Hearts III is the twelfth game released under the franchise and will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The song begins with a slow piano solo and emotional vocals by Hikaru Utada in combination with scenes from Kingdom Hearts III and previous games creating a nostalgic feeling, especially for fans of the series. When Skrillex’s signature sounds kick in, the trailer starts showing more of what to expect from the coming game as they move over to more action-filled cutscenes.
