Legendary DJs & producers Dirty South and Alesso are responsible for several of the greatest tracks ever made, such as ‘Sweet Disposition’, ‘Under Control’, ‘If I Lose Myself Remix’ and 2013’s festival favorite, ‘City of Dreams’. These two are one of the most influential figures in modern dance music. 6 years back the collaborative effort of Alesso and Dirty South was released and soon enough it could be heard at almost every club, festival, and radio. On its 6th birthday, we take a look back at the journey of the massive hit.
The progressive house track was recorded back in 2012 and was finally released on 9th July 2013. This was well before when the house music throne was conquered by Big Room House and uplifting tracks like these were still topping the dance music charts. The massive popularity of the track helped it in gaining a spot in EDC Las Vegas 2013 trailer as well. The eclectic and uplifting vocals from Ruben Haze are like a cherry on the cake and work really well in driving the track home. Even to this date, City of Dreams can be heard at festivals all around the globe. Some songs just never age! This classic artistic work gets a 10/10 in bringing back those nostalgic feels.
