Diplo kicks off house label ‘Higher Ground’ with Walker & Royce’s Rave Grave

Diplo, the mastermind behind the wildly successful Mad Decent imprint has decided to start up a second label, and this time it focuses on house music. Higher Ground is named after his four-track house EP that released in May of 2019 and proved to be a huge hit as he explored his house side. With an Instagram account already set up, an enigmatic teaser video was posted to the @thehigherground account with the caption ‘We can all Ascend’ before the first proper label announcement.

The first release to be birthed from Diplo’s newest label is from Walker & Royce named ‘Rave Grave’. Featuring two tracks named ‘Rave Grave (w/ VNSSA)’ and ‘The Biznes’ to be released on September 4, if the track teasers are anything to go by then ‘Rave Grave’ will set the tone expertly for what fans can expect from this label going forward. Future releases are from Diplo himself, Born DirtyAndhim and a lot more from artists old and new.

“The genre has always been incredibly important to me, and Higher Ground is our homage to the legends and opportunity to champion new sounds and artists from around the world pushing the genre forward.” – Diplo in a press release

With fourteen years (and counting) of experience as a label head, big things are expected from Higher Ground and we’re sure Diplo will deliver on these expectations. In the mean time, listen to Walker & Royce’s new track teasers below.
