Home Uncategorized Our Story – Celebrating 15 years of Tomorrowland

The past week was all about ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) –  the place and time of the year that serves as the global meeting point for the creative industry of electronic music, through conferences during the day, followed by club events at night. Surprisingly, this was the first year that Tomorrowland was represented, but their debut was undoubtedly special. On Thursday the 17th, and Friday the 18th of October, the Ziggo Dome was completely taken over by the simply breathtaking show of ‘Tomorrowland presents OUR STORY – Celebrating 15 Years of Tomorrowland’.

The first edition of Tomorrowland was held in 2005 which means that this year marks no lesser than the 15th anniversary of the festival that has grown into the most anticipated two weekends of the summer attracting 400.000 EDM lovers from all around the world. To make the celebrations one to remember, Tomorrowland introduced a lot of newnesses this year, such as the launch of their radio broadcast – One World Radio, in order to bring a little piece of magic to our everyday lives on a daily basis. And let’s not forget about the premiere of Tomorrowland Winter – the frosty edition of the phenomenon in Alpe d’Huez (France) took place for the very first time this March to invite the ski-lovers on an adventure of a lifetime.

To continue the anniversary festivities, the team of the Belgian music festival designed an extraordinary show in Amsterdam that welcomed some of the biggest headliners from previous years to help to relive and recreate the best moments in the festival’s history. The line-up included the new Number 1 DJs nominated by DJ Mag: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armin Van Buuren, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, The Bloody Beetroots, Goose, Netsky, and Push.

But to make the night truly magical, the whole event was accompanied by the live act of ‘The Symphony of Unity’, Metropole Orkest led by Jochen Neuffer, dirigent to lift the 3-hour spectacle to an even higher level, giving us goosebumps by taking their unexpected, classical twist on the soundtrack that was provided by some of the biggest acts that have been mainstays of Tomorrowland for years.

Unfortunately, the official live stream has been removed, but you can check out the YouTube video below to relive the captivating evening or if you are more interested in the tracklist, click here.
